Wing Chun Kung Fu
Wing Chun was created in China during the seventeenth century, and was one of the last Kung-Fu arts ever developed in China. It is believed to be the only Kung-Fu art ever created by a woman. Wing Chun is an in-close combative system based on not fighting "Force against Force," using the principles of Yin/Yang. The system's movements are based on looking at and implementing the movements of the five animals and five elements. Those are the white crane(wood), snake(water), tiger(fire), Leopard(metal) and Dragon(earth). However, its effectiveness and uniqueness is its ability to utilize "chi", one's internal energy. The Wing Chun approach results in a no-nonsense defense system characterized by simplicity, directness, speed and techniques rather than physical strength to respond to an attack. Thus, Wing Chun becomes especially useful when applied to a larger, stronger, faster, more aggressive adversary. In addition, Wing Chun was designed to capitalize on each individual's body mechanics. Therefore, people with varying abilities can quickly become adapt in defending themselves and at the same time developing self-confidence. It is well known that Yip Man (teacher of Bruce Lee) taught many of his main students differently, unique to their association with him. Rather than separate these extremes, we integrate them in order to teach Wing Chun from its total perspective.

Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do
Jeet Kune Do is a relatively new martial art, developed by the martial arts master, Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee began his martial arts career studying Wing Chun Kung Fu under grandmaster Yip Man in Hong Kong, and then taught his art in the U.S. as Jun Fan Kung Fu.

Lee began by taking the best and most practical aspects of Wing Chun and combining these with elements of western boxing; trapping and grappling; and influences from a variety of other martial arts. This developed into a fighting style that he named Jeet Kune Do, the "Way of the Intercepting Fist".

Jeet Kune Do is not a new style of kung-fu or karate. Bruce Lee did not invent a new or composite style, nor did he modify a style to set it apart from any existing method. His concept was to free his followers from clinging to any style, pattern, or mold.

The effect Jeet Kune Do had was to expose the Chinese martial arts to the world, which subsequently created a worldwide rush by westerners to learn these martial arts. It also stimulated interest in the other martial arts including Japanese, Okinawan and Korean. No other man has had more influence on the spread of martial arts to the world than Bruce Lee.
Kali-escrima
Kali is an ancient martial art of the Philippines dating back to the ninth century. Kali is one of the most comprehensive martial art systems available. Encompassing an entire spectrum of weaponry, Kali also features sophisticated "empty hands" techniques, kicks, knees, sweeps, throws and joint locking techniques. This highly efficient, combat proven art emphasizes an understanding of motion, body angulation, timing and footwork. This art is practiced by many masters well into their 70s, yet it is highly effective. The system of Filipino martial arts taught at the Syracuse Martial Arts Academy is the method taught at the Inosanto Academy in Los Angeles, California.
